Description

We are currently seeking Biotechnology Micro Analysts for a new start up biotechnology facility in Cork. These will be permanent roles and will involve 6-8 months training in the US or the UK prior to joining the start-up of the facility in Cork.

The primary function of this role will be to perform assays related to the transfer, scale-up and production of biopharmaceuticals produced in the small scale manufacturing facility.

Reponsibilities will include:

• Perform microbiological testing related to the production of monoclonal antibodies such as Endotoxin, Bioburden and Growth Promotion
• Perform microbiological testing related to the support of plant utility systems including microbiological testing of WFI, clean steam samples and environmental monitoring
• Transfer new assay technology
• Assist in inventory and ordering of lab supplies
• Assist in writing Assay Method Sheets and Standard Operating Procedures
• Plan and execute the qualification of laboratory equipment

Requirements include:

• Degree in relevant Scientific discipline (ideally with Microbiology, Biology, Biotechnology)
• Ideally 1yrs+ experience in a pharmaceutical laboratory, ideally with microbiology assays / testing
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative
