Description
Our client, one of the world's largest food and beverage manufacturers is currently recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Cost of Sales and Inventory reporting including analysis, trouble shooting and overseeing work of colleagues, this involves:
- Cost of Sales/ Inventory reporting on monthly and periodic basis
Responsible for accurate and timely reporting of cost of goods variances and providing insightful analysis of same for both local plant and worldwide concentrate management teams on a monthly basis. - Provide senior management with an insight into key trends.
- Lead continuous improvements in the underlying systems and operations processes to drive efficiencies and quality in the reporting cycle and management actions.
- Raise awareness of the correlation between actions and costs in the Operation.
- Inventory, Inventory Accruals and Variance Balance Sheet reconciliation (month/period end)
- Standard Cost management including annual cost roll up and new products introduction process.
- Drive process improvements in Cost of Sales and Inventory processes with specific focus on improving the accuracy of variance forecasts.
- Partnership with Operations and Inventory Control teams to drive continuous improvements in inventory accuracy and control and lead/ support the implementation of business solutions e.g yield/ usage
- Lead & support plant, region and divisional projects and initiatives as they arise.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory, audit and Sarbanes Oxley requirements and act as a key point of contact for Internal and External audit in relation to Inventory.
- Provide on-the-job training to other members of the team and to non financial colleagues from other functions.

The candidate
Professionally qualified accountant with 6-7 Years PQE in a high volume multinational manufacturing environment.
- Excellent understanding of standard costing systems and variances.
- An ability to identify opportunity for continuous improvement and adding value to the business, ideally with some formal lean or process improvement experience
- Committed to quality with the drive and determination to fulfill objectives within deadlines.
- Ability to identify issues on a timely basis, identify an action plan to resolve issues and influence others to implement the action plan.
- Experience in project management is essential with demonstrated initiative and self direction
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver on key priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to relate to and influence co-workers (both financial and non financial) across various departments and all levels of the organization.
- Systems literate with Oracle Financials ( or equivalent ERP system), SAP - financial & production management, Mapics (AS400), Cognos and Business Objects experience an advantage.
