About Gilead - Who we are

Gilead’s Ireland operations is responsible for quality control, packaging release and distribution of the company’s products in the European Union and other international locations such as the countries supported by the Gilead Access Programme. The Gilead Access Programme supplies some drugs to developing countries at low cost. Gilead has operations in both Dublin and Cork. The Cork site was recently purchased from Altana AG.

Gilead employs 3,000 worldwide and is headquartered in Foster City, California. The Cork facility currently employs 80 people, but is currently expanding its manufacturing facility and will increase employment to 110 approximately. This is as a result of a decision to migrate the manufacture of a number of new products to the Cork site. The main product is an anti-viral used for the treatment of HIV.”
